Le salon Handica se déroulera à Eurexpo à Lyon.

Solutions for gaining autonomy

What’s interesting for visitors is that Handica is the major gathering for Disability, Aging, and Home Care. You come to meet people, have a good time, and in one place, you find everything: all manufacturers of adapted vehicles, wheelchairs…

It’s a significant time saver in research, making contacts, and you can even try out the equipment,” say Patrick Le Bras and Jean-Raphaël Notton, organizers of the Handica exhibition, designed for individuals affected by disabilities and the elderly facing loss of autonomy, as well as their families.

Evidence of its appeal to the general public, in 2019, the Handica exhibition brought together more than 13,000 visitors, half of whom were private individuals (people with disabilities and their families) and half were professionals from the healthcare and social sectors, and home care. Admission is free.

While it did not take place in 2021 due to the health context, Patrick Le Bras and Jean-Raphaël Notton are convinced of achieving results as good as in 2021. Especially since this year’s program looks ambitious, with over 200 exhibitors (including companies, associations, and communities) representing all aspects of life:

adapted equipment and technical aids, adapted vehicles and transportation, home adaptations, associations, tourism, family caregivers, health… The autonomy house sets up at the exhibition

In June, over 200 exhibitors set up at the Handica exhibition. All sectors, manufacturers, distributors, installers, associations, institutions, communities… will be present at the exhibition to see and try out equipment to adapt homes and receive advice from specialists. The organizers add, “There will also be conferences, artist performances, sports demonstrations… The goal is also to have a good time.”

Another opportunity offered by the Handica exhibition is to take a look at innovations in the field of autonomy, such as an adapted camper for people with reduced mobility. The “start-up handi” and “innovation competition” areas will present numerous innovations; “In one visit to the Handica exhibition, you have the entire sector of autonomy and home care!” summarize the organizers. Especially since the exhibition, which aims to be accessible to all, is free.
